Mega Trip Day Five – A Day of Adventure at Universal IOA, Disney Springs, Food, and WDWNT Fun!

Join us on an action-packed day as we explore Islands of Adventure and Disney Springs! After conquering 4 parks in 1 day, Sam needed some well-deserved rest, so I (Sharon) headed off to Islands of Adventure solo.

Starting around 10 am, I took a leisurely stroll around Seuss Landing, rode the Cat in the Hat, and enjoyed the train ride, soaking in fantastic views over the park. The Jurassic Park atmosphere captivated me, and although I’m not a fan of massive coasters, I admired the Velocicoaster and checked the times for the Raptor Encounter.

With 50 minutes to spare, I strolled through Toon Lagoon and Super Hero Island, took a spin on Storm Force, and then witnessed the incredible Blue at the Raptor Encounter. The trainers added a hilarious touch to the experience, and Blue was way better than meeting Spiderman (no offense, Spidey!).

After a walk through Hogsmeade and enjoying the Frog Choir, I headed back to Toon Lagoon, determined to win a Matt Hooper plushie from the carnival games. With Hooper secured, it was time for brunch at Green Eggs and Ham. The Pizza Tots lived up to the hype! Once recharged, I headed back to Surfside, picked up Sam, and we hopped on the Lynx bus to Disney Springs.

Some window shopping, a few purchases, and a delightful dinner at Eet, where the build-your-own bowls were a hit. Sam indulged in the bread service, and I couldn’t resist the samosas. Stuffed and satisfied, we wrapped up the day with a highlight – watching WDW News Tonight! As avid WDWNT fans and WIGS members, it was an epic experience, topped off with some fun playing the Price is Right. A chat with Tom and a photo later, we rolled back into Surfside at half-past midnight. What an unforgettable day!
